UFO SIGHTING REPORT

DateSeptember, 20, 2005
| LocationYorba Linda, California, United States

|
SummaryYorba Linda, California Sighting. Unknown "saturn" shaped aircraft spotted for 10 seconds. Appeared to be a dull, grey color.
Date Posted: 9/21/2005 12:45:25 AM |
|
Sighting Time: 7:40 PM Day/Night: Nighttime Duration: 10 Seconds |
No. of Witnesses: 2 |
Size of Object(s): From the distance i viewed it, i could probably squish it with...1-1/2 to 2 inches fingers apart. (thumb to index). Im guessing it was somewhere 16-20 feet in length and maybe 10-15 feet top to bottom. |
|
Appearance / Description of Object(s) The object was much like a stealth B2 Bomber. you couldnt see it when it flattened out, but a slight manouver and you could see it well. A grey color, at the distance i saw it, i could only guess the size in length, im thinking....maybe 16-20 feet in length. from one end to the other. The best way to describe the shape is more like a planet with a ring around it. It wasnt all round, or completely oval, it had round top, and round bottom like a ball, and the only thing that would make it close to oval was the wings or whatever except it looked like it went all the way around the "ball". There were many storm clouds around so the sky was dull overcast, so i couldnt tell you if it was silver or grey, dull, or shiny. it appeared dull and grey.
Description of Area / Surroundings Yorba Linda, CA. Lots of residential, but the area i was in, there is a riverbed with miles of plants, trees, no houses except 3 or 4.. its more of a Rural area. River bed is sand/dirt.
Full Description & Details Its been storming here for a couple days now, non stop rain, and lightning. Sometimes I'll take the dogs outside so they can handle their buisness. There is a Bench swing that I have set up under some cover. While sitting there looking up at the sky at the clouds and lightning, I saw something a little lighter in color move in and out of the clouds, it was all in a period of i guess 10 seconds. It was hard to judge the speed because of how it went in and out of the clouds, sometimes you would see it here, and then move in the direction to lead your eyes, and then boom, it would appear somewhere around the area you were looking at. It never stopped completely but would almost seem to pause a little bit in the movment, it eventually went into the clouds and never revealed itself to me again. At least not anymore. The time was about 740pm, I went back inside at 752pm.
Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object? there was no way it was a star, planet, moon, bird, or cloud. it was not a blimp, not a satellite, it was an aircraft of some kind. The only man made thing it resembled is something the Airforce created a long time ago that looked exactly like a typical "UFO" . its featured in an old Air Force ROTC book of mine. That is the only thing that I have ever seen that looked like it. And the Airforce to my knowledge does not fly that aircraft.
Personal BackgroundI spent 4 years in the US Army under the 160th SOAR located at ft. Campbell, KY. I served as a crewchief on UH60's as well as modified versions of the UH60. I have college training completed in the area of Auto Mechanics and Computer Programming. I am Currently an Auto Mechanic, and Tattoo Artist.
Views on UFOs, before and after sightingI know many things or have studied many things on UFO's. I have studied in the Majestic Twelve documents, and various military/nasa programs regarding, space, and ufo activities. Some abduction stories such as Travis Walton and others.
Other CommentsI am always sceptical. This is my first sighting. I dont believe every UFO is made from another planet, I believe that it is always a possibility that someone can create a craft that looks "ET". The movments of the object, speed of the object, are things that distinguish important caracteristics.

SLIDESHOW |
| The only surviving Gnostic religion, now with no more than 20,000 adherents, living in southern Iraq and southwestern Iran. Their main city is Nasiriyya.
They are often called the Christians of Saint John, as he is held as a very sacred person, but not indispensable, in their theology. Their name is Aramaic for 'knowledge', i.e. a translation from the Greek 'gnosis'.
TEACHING and PRACTICE
John the Baptist is central in their teaching, as a representative for their faith. Jesus is also central, but he plays a totally different role than in religions like Christianity and Islam, and is a false prophet, almost depicted as evil.
The central religious book to Mandeans is the Ginza, 'Treasure', containing mythological and theological moral and narrative tracts as well as hymns to be used in the mass for the dead.
There are many other, less central books, mainly written in East Aramaic (or Mandean) as the language is also called. The content in these books varies, and many has magical texts and exorcisms. The collection of books started in the time of Islam, which differs strongly between 'book-religions' and other religions, and the Mandeans soon fitted in to the Koranic concept of 'Sabians' — the 4th 'book-religion', which can be translated to 'baptizers'.
Baptism is central to the cult of Mandeans, and the Mandean sanctuary, Mandi is a very simple and small house with slanting roof. In front of it is a pool which is connected to a nearby river.
The river is called 'Jordan' and is used for baptism. The whole area is surrounded by a high fence or a wall. Baptisms are performed on Sundays, and every believer pass through this several times every year. Mandean baptism can be compared to the Christian communion, and the Muslim prayer, salât.
The other central ritual is the mass for the dead, with recitations form the Ginza. The soul is released from the body the third day after the moment of death. Meals are central in these rituals. Traditional Mandean graves are unmarked, as what is buried is only the dark body. But in modern times these customs have adjusted themselves to Muslim customs.
The ethics of Mandeans are not all too different from Jewish ethics and their laws apply to all Mandeans, man or woman, leaders or not. Monogamy, dietary laws, ritual slaughtering and alms-giving are all central acts.
According to the Mandeans, cosmos is made up of two forces, the world of light, located to the north, and the world of darkness, located to the south. There is a ruler to both, and around the rulers smaller gods, called kings. Between the two forces there are hostilities, and it is in the fights between the two that the world is created, but without consent the ruler of light. Man is created by the forces of darkness, but in every man, there is a "hidden Adam", the soul, which has its origin in the world of light.
Death is the day of deliverance, the soul leaves the body, and starts on a dangerous journey to the realms of light. It is only Mandeans and non-sinners who manages to pass the whole journey — everyone else end in hell. This hell is not everlasting, at the end of the world, a judgement is made on who will be wiped out for ever, and who will rise to the realms of light.

ORIGINS and HISTORY
The religion's origin is difficult to reconstruct, as there is so much unknown. They could be a continuation of traditions from Mesopotamia, or Palestine, or both. The Mandean religion could be pre-Christian, or it could date to 1st or 2nd century CE. It could actually be John the Baptist who founded the sect, or they could be a continuation of the Jewish sect that John the Baptist belonged to (guessed by some to be the Essenes).
However, elements of their language indicate that the community is of Jewish origin.
One of the texts of the Mandeans tell about a flight of a group called 'Nasoreans', from areas that probably were in today's Jordan, to the Mesopotamian region, in the times of the Jewish wars following the destruction of Jerusalem in year 70 CE. The Mandeans appears first to have gained a strong position in Babylon, but lost this with the appearance of the Sassinids in year 226. In the time of Mani, there have been contacts between him and the Mandeans, resulting in both love and hate.
With the arrival of Islam in Iraq in 636, the Mandeans were considered as the third 'people of the book', as the mysterious Sabians of the Koran.
But the Mandeans still faced a difficult relationship with Islam, and Muhammad is in their writings called the 'demon Bizbat'. The Mandeans moved from the cities to the marshlands in Southern Iraq. It is first in modern times that the Mandeans have moved back to the cities, especially Nasiriyya, Baghdad and Basra, where many of them work as gold and silver smiths, iron smiths and boat builders.
Mandeans are also found in medium-sized towns between Baghdad and Basra. Some small groups of Mandeans even live in Iran, in cities like Ahvaz and Shushtar in the southwestern corner of the country.
Today Mandean theology is seriously threatened, as recruiting new priests is difficult, and many offices are vacant. Mandean laymen are often highly educated, but know little of the old language and the scripts, and they attend ceremonies only seldom, as in weddings. Yet, there is a strong feeling of pride of their heritage, and they often claim to belong to a religion older than Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

number 108
by
salvador rosillo
on Thu 08 Sep 2005 04:43 PM EDT
The Significance of the number 108
The Indian Subcontinent rosary or set of mantra counting has 108 beads. 108 has been a sacred number in the Indian Subcontinent for a very long time. This number is explained in many different ways.
The ancient Indians were excellent mathematicians and 108 may be the product of a precise mathematical operation (e.g. 1 power 1 x 2 power 2 x 3 power 3 = 108) which was thought to have special numerological significance.
Powers of 1, 2, and 3 in math: 1 to 1st power=1; 2 to 2nd power=4 (2x2); 3 to 3rd power=27 (3x3x3). 1x4x27=108
Sanskrit alphabet: There are 54 letters in the Sanskrit alphabet. Each has masculine and feminine, shiva and shakti. 54 times 2 is 108.
Sri Yantra: On the Sri Yantra there are marmas where three lines intersect, and there are 54 such intersections. Each intersections has masculine and feminine, shiva and shakti qualities. 54 x 2 equals 108. Thus, there are 108 points that define the Sri Yantra as well as the human body.
9 times 12: Both of these numbers have been said to have spiritual significance in many traditions. 9 times 12 is 108. Also, 1 plus 8 equals 9. That 9 times 12 equals 108.
Heart Chakra: The chakras are the intersections of energy lines, and there are said to be a total of 108 energy lines converging to form the heart chakra. One of them, sushumna leads to the crown chakra, and is said to be the path to Self-realization.
Marmas: Marmas or marmastanas are like energy intersections called chakras, except have fewer energy lines converging to form them. There are said to be 108 marmas in the subtle body.
Time: Some say there are 108 feelings, with 36 related to the past, 36 related to the present, and 36 related to the future.
Astrology: There are 12 constellations, and 9 arc segments called namshas or chandrakalas. 9 times 12 equals 108. Chandra is moon, and kalas are the divisions within a whole.
Planets and Houses: In astrology, there are 12 houses and 9 planets. 12 times 9 equals 108.
Gopis of Krishna: In the Krishna tradition, there were said to be 108 gopis or maid servants of Krishna.
1, 0, and 8: 1 stands for God or higher Truth, 0 stands for emptiness or completeness in spiritual practice, and 8 stands for infinity or eternity.
Sun and Earth: The diameter of the sun is 108 times the diameter of the Earth.
Numerical scale: The 1 of 108, and the 8 of 108, when added together equals 9, which is the number of the numerical scale, i.e. 1, 2, 3 ... 10, etc., where 0 is not a number.
Smaller divisions: The number 108 is divided, such as in half, third, quarter, or twelfth, so that some malas have 54, 36, 27, or 9 beads.
Islam: The number 108 is used in Islam to refer to God.
Jain: In the Jain religion, 108 are the combined virtues of five categories of holy ones, including 12, 8, 36, 25, and 27 virtues respectively.
Sikh: The Sikh tradition has a mala of 108 knots tied in a string of wool, rather than beads.
Chinese: The Chinese Buddhists and Taoists use a 108 bead mala, which is called su-chu, and has three dividing beads, so the mala is divided into three parts of 36 each.
Stages of the soul: Said that Atman, the human soul or center goes through 108 stages on the journey.
Meru: This is a larger bead, not part of the 108. It is not tied in the sequence of the other beads. It is the quiding bead, the one that marks the beginning and end of the mala.
Dance: There are 108 forms of dance in the Indian traditions.
Pythagorean: The nine is the limit of all numbers, all others existing and coming from the same. ie: 0 to 9 is all one needs to make up an infinite amount of numbers.
We have listed below 108 Upanishads as per the list contained in the Muktikopanishad . We have arranged them in four categories according to the particular Veda to which each of them belong.
Rigveda(10): Aitareya , Atmabodha, Kaushitaki, Mudgala, Nirvana, Nadabindu, Akshamaya, Tripura, Bahvruka, Saubhagyalakshmi.
